A Cinderella story like no other, Memoirs of a Geisha stars Ziyi Zhang, Ken Watanabe, Michelle Yeoh and Gong Li. Adapted by Robin Swicord from the celebrated book by Arthur Golden, the film was nominated for six Academy Awards, of which it won for Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Art Direction, and Best Achievement in Costume Design. The film also won a Golden Globe for Best Original Score by longtime Spielberg-collaborator John Williams.
Steven Spielberg produced the Amblin Entertainment production, along with Lucy Fisher and Douglas Wick, for DreamWorks Pictures, Spyglass Entertainment and Columbia Pictures.
