The enchanting tale of The Land Before Time follows the exciting adventures of our young dinosaurs as they live and play under the watchful eyes of their parents in the beautiful and peaceful Great Valley. Rallying around the leadership of Littlefoot, the young Apatosaurus, their valiant little band also includes, Cera, a Triceratops, Spike, a Stegosaurus, Ducky, an Anatosaurus, Petrie, a flightless Pterodactyl and Chomper, a young tyrannosaurus.

During their thrilling encounters with the many dangers and challenges of their lush homeland, each of them brings his or her own special strengths to the problem at hand. But in the end, it’s the unconquerable spirit of the group as a whole that enables these dauntless adventurers to triumph against overwhelming odds.

In the course of their surprising adventures, our little heroes encounter a breathtaking panorama of high adventure and unforgettable fun in a series powered by positive, family oriented values of friendship, perseverance and cooperation. It’s a classically animated, richly imagined prehistoric world no child can resist—as five irrepressible, pint-sized dinos brave everything from ravenous thunder-lizards to lava-spewing volcanoes in their spectacular and inspiring journeys to a new home and future in The Great Valley.

Presented by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, and directed by Don Bluth (An American Tail) in classical cel animation, The Land Before Time is an enchanting animated family adventure—a wondrous tale of hope and survival. The film is written by Stu Krieger from a story by Judy Freudberg and Tony Geiss, the team that penned An American Tail. Don Bluth and his partners Gary Goldman and John Pomeroy produce, with Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy serving as executive producers.
