For centuries, two races of robotic aliens – the Autobots and the Decepticons – have waged a war, with the fate of the universe at stake. When the battle comes to Earth, all that stands between the evil Decepticons and ultimate power is a clue held by young Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf, Disturbia). An average teenager, Sam is consumed with everyday worries about school, friends, cars and girls. Unaware that he alone is mankind’s last chance for survival, Sam and his friend Mikaela (Megan Fox) find themselves in a tug of war between the Autobots and Decepticons. With the world hanging in the balance, Sam comes to realize the true meaning behind the Witwicky family motto – “No sacrifice, no victory!” 

That war between the Autobots and the Decepticons had been waged for centuries in terms of the Transformers mythology, but cinema audiences would have to wait until well into the CG-era for computer generated imagery powerful enough to do justice to the intricately machined transformations of the metallic stars. That time came when Steven Spielberg, a standard-bearer of the digital age, found the technology right to bring the properties to the big screen under the flagship of his DreamWorks Pictures.

A big summer entertainment was forged and released in 2007, under the direction of master action filmmaker Michael Bay (The Island), and starring Shia LaBeouf, Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Anderson, Megan Fox, Rachael Taylor, and screen veterans John Turturro and Job Voight, with Oscar-nominated visual effects by Industrial Light & Magic.
