The lights begin to dim. Sit back. Relax. Enjoy. You are about to enter The Twilight Zone.

Four segments comprise this journey into the imagination of sight, sound, and Rod Serling's beloved television creation reimagined for the big screen. Respectively directed by John Landis, Steven Spielberg, Joe Dante (Gremlins) and George Miller, each segment focuses on an unfamiliar facet of our exis­tence, examining that peculiar place where time and space con­verge in one's consciousness. Each member of the quartet creates his own unnerving fantasy-drama, uniquely faithful to those events which defy rational explanation, delving into the area otherwise known as The Twilight Zone.

Time Out, direc­ted by Landis, tells of a man who in an unexpected turnabout of space and time is forced to suffer the indignities of his own bigotry.

Spielberg's segment, Kick the Can, concerns several discouraged rest home residents who undergo a phenomenal transformation which enables them to once again rediscover the joys of life with a child's appreciation and wonder.

The third segment, It's a Good Life, directed by Dante, tells of a boy whose wishes bring him everything but the happiness he most desires.

And finally, Miller's segment, Nightmare at 20,000 Feet (based on the short story and original Zone episode by Richard Matheson (Duel)) relates the unforeseen consequences of an airline passenger's fright during a flight which somehow crosses the unchartered boundaries of reality.

The film would inspire a deluge of anthology films and series in the 1980s, including Amblin Entertainment's own Amazing Stories, as well as those from other producers including Tales from the Darkside, The Ray Bradbury Theater, Monsters, Tales from the Crypt, and even a television revival of The Twilight Zone.
