Something has survived

“Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and um, screaming.”

Dr. Ian Malcolm

The Lost World: Jurassic Park

Release Date: May 23, 1997

Director Steven Spielberg takes us back to the majesty and terror of Jurassic Park in The Lost World: Jurassic Park, the blockbuster sequel with even more dinosaurs, action and Academy Award-nominated visual effects by Industrial Light and Magic.

Four years since the disaster at Jurassic Park on Isla Nublar, two groups with very different motivations—preservation and exploitation—are in a race against time that will determine the fate of the prehistoric inhabitants on a remote second island —Isla Sorna, or “Site B.” After the devastating effects of the hurricane that beset Isla Nublar in the first film, the labs on Site B are devastated, the island abandoned and now a free range for sundry dinosaurs both benevolent or deadly.

Jurassic Park’s Ian Malcolm (played by fan favorite Jeff Goldblum) is drawn back into John Hammond’s world when he’s informed his girlfriend, behaviorist Sarah Harding (Julianne Moore), has traveled to Site B to observe and document the activities of InGen’s genetic wonders. Malcolm mounts a rescue mission to get Sarah off the island safety, but the interference of Hammond’s profiteering nephew and a team of mercenary big-game hunters bring chaos to the island and all humans unfortunate to have intruded.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Goldblum, Moore, Vince Vaughn, Richard Schiff, Pete Postlethwaite, Arliss Howard, and Vanessa Lee Chester, and featuring cameos by a trio of beloved characters from the original Jurassic Park, Spielberg’s action-packed thrill ride will leave you on the edge of your seat.
