The Ring Two

Release Date: March 18, 2005

Naomi Watts reprises the role of investigative reporter Rachel Keller in The Ring Two, the sequel to the 2002 horror hit The Ring. Video Nakata, the director of the original Japanese blockbuster Ringu, upon which The Ring was based, directed The Ring Two, which marks his American film debut.

Six months after the horrifying events that terrorized Rachel Keller and her son Aidan (David Dorfman), the two have left their home in Seattle to escape the haunting memories of Samara and her cursed videotape, which left so much death in its wake. Moving to the small costal community of Astoria, Oregon, Rachel and Aidan hope to start fresh. However Rachel's resolve quickly turns to dread when evidence at a local crime scene—including an unmarked videotape—seems eerily familiar. Rachel realizes that the vengeful Samara is back and more determined than ever to continue her relentless cycle of terror and death.

The Ring Two is produced by Walter F. Parkes, and Laurie MacDonald, who also produced The Ring. Also returning from the first DreamWorks adaptation is screenwriter Ehren Krueger.

Joining Watts and Dorfman in the cast are Simon Baker, Elizabeth Perkins, Gary Cole, Emily VanCamp, Ryan Merriman (DreamWorks Television’s Taken) and Academy Award-winner Sissy Spacek.
