An Everlasting Piece
Release Date: December 25, 2000
Against the turbulent backdrop of Belfast in the 1980s, fellow barbers Colm, a Catholic, and George, a Protestant, form an unlikely partnership to corner the toupee market in Northern Ireland. With rival hairpiece company, Toupee or Not Toupee, getting the jump on the competition, Colm and George have to come up with some creative sales techniques to bring a different kind of piece to Northern Ireland.
Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson (who previously directed Young Sherlock Holmes for Amblin Entertainment) directed An Everlasting Piece from a screenplay by Barry McEvoy, who also stars as Colm, with Brían F. O'Byrne, starring as George. The film also stars Anna Friel and popular Scottish actor/comedian Billy Connolly (Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events).
The DreamWorks Pictures release is produced by Mark Johnson, Louis DiGiaimo, Jerome O'Connor, Barry Levinson and Paula Weinstein.
