Anthony Boyle Joins Cast of 'Masters of the Air'

Apple Studios today revealed that Anthony Boyle (TetrisThe Plot Against AmericaTolkienHarry Potter and the Cursed Child) will star alongside Austin Butler and BAFTA Award-nominee Callum Turner in Masters of the Air, the highly anticipated limited series that reunites Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman following their Emmy Award-winning collaborations on Band of Brothers and The Pacific. Produced by Playtone and Amblin Television, Masters of the Air will make its global debut on Apple TV+.

Anthony Boyle will play the lead role of ‘Major Crosby.’ He joins previously announced stars including Austin Butler, who stars as 'Major Gale Cleven,’ and Callum Turner who stars as 'Major John Egan.'

Based on the compelling book by Donald L. Miller, Masters of the Air follows the true, deeply personal story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep. The series is written by Band of Brothers alumnus John Orloff and Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winner Graham Yost, who are also co-executive producing. Produced by Apple Studios, Steven Spielberg will executive produce through Amblin Television, alongside executive producers Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for Playtone. Amblin Television’s Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey and Playtone’s Steven Shareshian serve as co-executive producers. Alex Maggioni will oversee the day-to-day development of the project for Amblin, alongside Spielberg, Frank and Falvey.

Masters of the Air will premiere globally on Apple TV+ where it will join the acclaimed film Greyhound starring and written by Hanks, produced by Goetzman and hailing from Playtone; and, Amazing Stories from Amblin Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

Masters of the Air will premiere alongside a growing offering of anticipated Apple Originals developed and produced by Apple Studios, including The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, a new six-episode limited series starring and executive produced by Academy Award nominee Samuel L. Jackson and Dominique Fishback, and based on the moving novel by bestselling author Walter Mosley; WeCrashed starring Academy Award-winners Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto; Lessons in Chemistry, starring and executive produced by Academy Award winner Brie Larson, and written and executive produced by Academy Award nominee Susannah Grant; Kitbag, the latest film from esteemed director Ridley Scott and starring Academy Award winner Joaquin Phoenix; Emancipation, from director Antoine Fuqua, and starring and produced by Academy Award nominee Will Smith; the highly sought-after film Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro; and Swan Song, a genre-bending film starring Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris.
